The Art Gallery of South Australia’s annual Tarnanthi Art Fair is one of the most exciting places to meet and support First Nations artists, and the event is back later this month!
This year’s program will take place both online and in-person at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, after pivoting to a digital-only event for the past two years due to the pandemic.
Over three days, visit the fair to browse pieces created by hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from more than 50 art centres from across Australia.
Not only is a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity of First Nation’s art across diverse mediums, but any sales made at the fair go directly to the artists and their community-run art centres.
For those not in Adelaide, the good news is the online offering will also feature a unique line-up of works available to purchase.
The Tarnanthi Art Fair is a part of the wider Tarnanthi Festival, which shines a spotlight on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to share their work and stories with an annual exhibition, talks and performances.
And it all kicks off with the fair on October 20!
