TS Makers’ handcrafted timber serving boards are instantly recognisable. In fact, you’ve probably seen them in our very own food column with Julia Busuttil Nishimura (not to mention all over Instagram!).
Just as beautiful to look at as they are functional, the TS Makers boards have been a must-have since Tim (a carpenter) and Sarah Ford (a designer) launched the brand in 2019.
The husband-and-wife team have just revealed their new summer collection, which includes their latest venture into lamps and coffee tables!
In true TS Makers style, all the pieces are made by hand in their Marrickville workshop using sustainable and reclaimed timbers.
Sarah says the range takes cues from retro design, in addition to their own ‘vintage modern’ aesthetic. They’ve also incorporated the same checkerboard pattern from one of their best-selling boards into the Check Mate Rectangular Table Lamp!
The Pillar Coffee Table and matching Pillar Candle Holders are among the other timeless new arrivals, featuring sculptural legs that showcase the natural beauty of the materials.
‘Inspired by mid-century design, both pieces are made from pacific maple, a timber with an incredible grain and sheen,’ Sarah says.
The new expanded range is even more special because it’s something the small business has been dreaming of for a while.
‘When we first started, we’d load the van each weekend and drive up the coast to use Tim’s mum’s paddock to work in, or across Sydney to use our brother and sister-in-law’s workshop… We then got our own tiny space, then a slightly bigger one, we’re now in a great space in Marrickville and have invested in the machinery that allowed us to finally take this step.’
